The Holiday Inn is not on the beach (if that matters to you). I would recommend the Dorado Pacifico which is where we like to stay in Ixtapa. It's on the beach and has a nice pool and restaurants with good food.
Our friends have also stayed at the Posada Real in Ixtapa. It's further down the beach and a smaller hotel. There are no balconies, but our friends like it because it is a little cheaper and quieter than other hotels. ZIHUATANEJO
